Finding The Perfect Home May Not Always Be Easy

Now that we found it, getting to work on it to be able to live there took many months

The First Time We Viewed Our Home, Needed Some TLC But We Loved It

After looking for a considerable time, we eventually found a property that was in need of tender loving care as they say. The wife saw the potential straight away after we looked around and made plans for various areas that needed to be changed. The nest step negotiating to buy.

Negotiating:

In Brazil a home owner will generally place their property in the hands of an agent, and then instruct them to sell. The home owner will give the agent a rough idea of how much they want to sell for. It is then up to the agent to then doing negotiate with the potential clients.

Bear in mind that the agents are working on a commission basis and the more they sell it for the more commission they get.

This scenario happened to us: we offered what we saw was a reasonable price for the property, the agent seeing dollar signs didn't think it was enough, so be aware of this and stick to your guns and make sure they tell the owner of your offer.

Hence to say we eventually secured a deal and purchased the property, after many back and forth.

The following pictures were taken when we first viewed the property, as you can see it had been neglected and empty for a considerable time.

We even had a pool in the garden, however many beasts were living in it at the time

The pool obviously lacked maintenance but this was a small point however

Black Tiled Floor In The House. Not Too Our Liking But Just Look Past That

The black tiled floor was different, and was on the plans to be changed.

The Bathroom Suite In Typical Brazilian Style, We Would Modernize This Later

A typical design Brazilian bathroom suite from a number of years back, which we had plans to replace.

The Outside Back Garden, Overgrown But Not A Problem To Get Fixed

The garden area had great potential with overgrown hedges needed removing and work on others.

The Kitchen Where The Wife Saw Great Potential, Was Old Style Just Needed Modernizing

The wife had great plans for the kitchen, something i couldn't see at the time.

The Pantry Which Became An Ensuite, To Our Bedroom. Looks Great Now

The house had a walk in pantry, which the wife had plans for. She made this into an en-suite for our bedroom, now amazing. She is very creative and can see past the current situation and make just the right decision to make it perfect.
