The answer to this question is, it depends what you want doing.
For example if you need someone to cut your grass and hedges and generally tend the garden, then finding people to do this is not a problem. There are always people asking to do this type of work on a regular basis.
If however you are after a fully qualified electrician to do a house rewiring for you, then you may have problems finding one. Its not that they aren't available its actually finding someone who carries out good work and they know what they are doing. We found a great electrician to do the work in our home and we couldn't be more happy with the work that he did.
I do refer to trades people a lot as we have been let down more than once, and even had one of our workers just not turn up for work and never seen again, although later he did apologize and ask us if we wanted any work done! Can you believe.
So the moral of the story is, if you find people who are good at what they do take their number and use them when you need to. We now have a builder who can carry out most general repairs working for us full time, we know he will turn up and that he does a good job while hes working.
Our builder carried out all the work around our pool as well as installing lights into decking. He also built an outside shower and bathroom under the guidance of my wife, which turned out just great. An outside water tank capable of holding 20000 liters was also dug into the ground.
Now that covid restrictions are in place getting paperwork done does take longer, for example in Brazil we have places that stamp documents and authorize them and place stamps on them to verify that they are original. These places are still open but things just take a little longer to get done.
